The Republic of Seychelles is an independent country located on an archipelago of 90 islands in the Indian Ocean, about 2000 km east of mainland Africa.

It is a former colony of France and the UK, which became independent from the UK in 1976. The head of the state is the President, the country being governed by the Parliament. The Republic of Seychelles is a member of such organizations as UN, OAU (Organization of African Unity), British Commonwealth.

The economy of Seychelles is based on tourism, agricultural and fishing activity, but recently the increasing importance is got also with granting of financial and corporate services.

Its current legislation on international business companies was adopted in 1994 – Seychelles International Business Companies Act of 1994.
